Effective date: October 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Suds n Charge (“Suds n Charge,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use sudsncharge.com, our installable web app and related services (the “Services”). Suds n Charge is based in Carlsbad, California.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to show you nearby charging spots and detailers, run your account and keep the Services safe.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time through our Contact page.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, password, and profile details such as saved vehicles, preferences and favorite detailers. If you sign in with Google or another sign-in provider, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider.
- Detailer and location details: if you list a business or location, we collect business name, contact details, service area, services and prices, and verification documents such as a business license and certificate of insurance.
- Waivers: the name and signature details you provide when you sign a customer or detailer waiver.
- Messages and reports: messages you send through the Services, reviews, problem reports and any photos you upload with them, and anything you send through our contact form or chat assistant.
- Payment details: payments are not currently processed through the Services. When they are, card and bank details will be collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe), not by us. We will receive only limited details such as the last four digits and card type.
Information collected automatically
- Location: if you allow it, your device shares its location with your browser so the map can center on you and show nearby spots and detailers. You can turn this off in your browser or device settings and search by city or zip instead.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and dates and times of visits, collected in standard server logs.
- Cookies: we use cookies and similar storage that are needed for sign-in, security, remembering your choices and keeping the app working. We do not use advertising cookies.
Information from other sources
Some business listings on Suds n Charge are created from publicly available business information (such as business name, city, phone number and website) so customers can find local detailers. Business owners can claim, correct or remove these listings at any time; see Business Listings.
How we use information
- To provide the Services: show maps, charging locations and detailers, run accounts, and connect customers with detailers.
- To verify detailers and locations and keep the community safe, including handling reports, reviews and disputes.
- To communicate with you about your account, requests and changes to the Services.
- To maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Services.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
How we share information
- Between customers and detailers: when you contact or book a detailer, we share the details needed for the job, such as your name, contact details, vehicle and location.
- Public content: listings, reviews and public profile names are visible to other users.
- Service providers: companies that host the site, provide maps, sign-in, email, chat and (when enabled) payment processing for us, under contracts that limit their use of your information.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, partner locations, the public or Suds n Charge.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, then delete or de-identify it unless we must keep it to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or meet legal, tax or accounting requirements.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We only use sensitive information (such as precise location or account sign-in details) to provide the Services you request.
- Not be discriminated against for using these rights.
To make a request, use our Contact page and choose “Privacy request.” We will verify your request by confirming details we already have, and you may use an authorized agent. We respond within the time the law requires. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); customer records (account and business details); commercial information (bookings and requests); internet activity (usage data); geolocation (device location, if allowed); and inferences limited to saved preferences. Sources and purposes are described above.
